Local for Everyone: The Impact of Location Intelligence on Retail.

Description

Sales per square metre are falling, markets are tightening and new competitors keep arriving: selling is becoming ever more expensive. In this context, a network of stores close to where people live is once again an asset, provided retailers look beyond national averages to understand what is really at stake in each local market. Leila Ikni, Head of Geomarketing and Local Insights at Leroy Merlin, presents the retailer's approach: putting location intelligence in the hands of those who act on it, from stores to business teams. In conversation with Galigeo, a geomarketing software company, she walks through its three stages, illustrated by three concrete use cases: mapping and understanding a territory, assessing the potential of a new store, and managing each store according to the specific challenges of its area. The session will also offer a cross-perspective on AI applied to local analysis: what it makes possible, and under what conditions.
